The path to higher-level hockey is hard to navigate. An MCN advisor is a voice off the ice who guides players and parents through the recruitment process, always looking out for the player first.

What an Advisor Does

An advisor helps you understand your options and plan your next move. We look at where a player is today and where they want to go, then we build a path to get there.

We open doors through real relationships. We make coaches and scouts aware of our players. And we give honest advice at every step, so families are never guessing.

Success depends on the player’s ability. Advisors don’t make teams. A mentor, advisor, or agent assists, but the player creates the success.

Some people will tell you a smaller team cannot get players placed. That is not how this works. Placing a player comes down to relationships, and ours run deep. Over 15 years, we have built real connections with coaches, general managers, and clubs, from minor hockey through junior, college, and pro, across North America and into Europe. That includes relationships and dealings with all NCAA Division 1 and Division 3 teams, the ACAC, and CIS. Teams reach out to us, and we reach out to them for our athletes.

When to Work with an Advisor

No player needs an advisor early.

Advising streamlines the path and saves families money, not running camp to camp, province to province, gas, hotels, time. Frame as a top priority and cost-effective long-term.

The advisor relationship usually matters most as a player gets closer to the draft and the next level. Before that, we are happy to be a resource and build a relationship over time, without signing a player too young. If it is not the right time, we will tell you.

Players come to us with all kinds of goals, and the path to any of them can be hard to navigate. We help you understand every option, then let the athlete make the call that is right for them. Hockey is a network at every level, and Junior B counts as much as Junior A. It is about the journey, the people you meet, and the life you build after the game, not just going pro.
