These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of https://mcnsportsadvising.ca (the “Site”) and the advising, skill development, camp, evaluation, and team training services offered by MCN Sports Advising & Skill Development (“MCN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Use of the Site
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use the Site in any way that damages it, interferes with another user’s access, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems.
2. Our Services
MCN provides hockey advising, skill development, camps, player and team evaluations, and on-ice team training. Details published on the Site, including schedules, pricing, session lengths, and group sizes, are provided for information and may change. The specific terms of any service you purchase are those confirmed with you in writing at the time of booking.
3. No Guarantee of Results
Advising, evaluation, and training services are provided on a best-efforts basis. MCN does not guarantee any specific outcome, including selection to a team, a roster spot, an invitation to a camp or showcase, a commitment or offer from any junior, college, university, or professional program, or any scholarship or financial award. Player development and recruitment depend on many factors outside our control, including the player’s performance, health, academics, and the independent decisions of coaches, scouts, and programs.
Success stories and player results shown on the Site reflect the experiences of individual players and are not a promise or prediction of the results any other player will achieve.
4. Bookings, Payment, and Cancellations
Registration for camps, sessions, and programs is confirmed once payment or a deposit is received, and spots are limited. Fees, deposits, payment schedules, and cancellation and refund terms are those provided to you at the time of registration. Unless stated otherwise in writing:
- Deposits reserve a spot and may be non-refundable
- Missed sessions are not refunded or credited
- If MCN cancels a session or program, you will be offered a rescheduled session, a credit, or a refund for the cancelled portion
5. Participation, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Hockey is a physical, high-speed sport that carries an inherent risk of injury. Participants and, where the participant is a minor, their parent or legal guardian, accept those risks. Participants must wear the required protective equipment, follow the instructions of MCN coaches and facility staff, and comply with the rules of the facility and any governing body. MCN may remove a participant from a session without refund for conduct that puts themselves or others at risk.
You are responsible for ensuring a participant is medically fit to take part and for informing us of any medical condition, injury, or allergy that we should be aware of.
6. Minors
Where a participant is under the age of 18, registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on the participant’s behalf.
7. Photography and Video
MCN may take photographs or video during sessions, camps, and events for coaching, video review, and promotional purposes, including use on the Site and on our social media channels. If you do not want a participant to appear in promotional material, tell us in writing and we will accommodate the request.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, video, and training materials, is owned by MCN or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our prior written permission.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MCN is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or our services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Alberta.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
